SAVE
Build a reusable cache of stories.
How could I use this experience again?
Do not wait until you are standing in front of learners to search your memory. Build a cache.
A useful story bank allows you to retrieve stories by purpose, not merely by title. The goal is not to collect hundreds of polished stories. The goal is to know what experiences you have available and what they can help learners examine.
Field tool: story card
A story name is for retrieval. It does not need to be clever. Examples: The Night Emails · The Missing Workbooks · The Drive-Thru.
Field tool: story remix
One story may serve several purposes. Take a story in your cache and change the camera.
You do not need five versions. The exercise helps you recognize the range of a rich story.
Field tool: after-action story review
Complete this after using an important story.
